This is a face I drew and painted on some background paper that my nephew Justin gave me. He had taken very tiny notes in a class and mounted the notes on his wall. I asked for a copy and he sent them to me and now I'm creating art on them. I love these for backgrounds!
I discovered bookmaking about eight years ago. Books made out of metal, wood, paper, fabric, and recycled materials (bags, boxes, etc.) are my loves. I incorporate mixed media techniques with paint, stencils, stitching, sketching, collage, and anything else I can find. After my first book binding class, I was totally HOOKED! Look around my blog for pictures of art I've done, and enjoy! Would love to hear your comments. Thanks for visiting my page. Jan Richie

More sketching
Sketches I've done over the past few months. The first is a shoe I had since I was a child and my puppy Lucy, got hold of it and chewed it up. Thought it made an interesting sketch! Artwork by Lucy!
These are various pictures of fall Indian Corn, gourds and lotus pods.
